One of the favorite treatments among men and women is laser skin rejuvenation, which stimulates collagen. This treatment targets fine lines, sun damage and acne scarring. Laser Retexturing can be done alone or with the addition of other aesthetic treatments for maximum results. Often a series of treatments will be recommended.

By treating newly revealed cells with a collagen-producing laser, you can expect glowing skin, improved texture, and a softer look and feel. This skin resurfacing treatment evens skin tone and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft to the touch giving you a healthy, youthful appearance. Most laser Resurfacing treatments involve little to no downtime.

FAQ

During your initial consultation, it is important to let your Medical Provider know what types of medications you are taking, as he/she may advise refraining from taking them up to two weeks prior to your treatment. For example, certain acne medications, such as Accutane, are contraindicated for treatment entirely. It is also recommended you avoid sun exposure, including sunless tanning for 2-4 weeks before your treatment.

To best plan for your procedure, we recommended scheduling a complimentary consultation. During your complimentary consultation, our providers will carefully evaluate your needs and circumstances to recommend the right treatments that will meet your desired goals.

The procedure is relatively pain-free. During the procedure, you may experience a heat sensation in the areas being treated. This feeling does not last long and usually subsides quickly after the procedure. Depending on the type of laser used, numbing cream may be applied for 1 hour prior to the treatment.

When performed by an experienced Medical Provider, this is considered a safe, and most treatments have minimal side effects. Healing varies depending on the type of laser used. For a deeper resurfacing treatment you may experience short-term redness and swelling in the treated area, but this will subside after a couple of days. Most laser resurfacing treatments will have your skin back to normal within 1-7 days.

Since laser treatments remove the top layers of the epidermis, sun exposure should be limited. As always, we recommend wearing a medical-grade broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen daily and apply as needed. Post-procedure instructions will be reviewed thoroughly during your consultation process.

Appointment length depends on the area being treated but typically lasts between thirty minutes to an hour. Patients can often return to their normal daily activities after the treatment.

Most Laser Resurfacing treatments involve no downtime. In this case, your skin will feel refreshed and radiant post-treatment. Stronger and deeper Laser Resurfacing treatments will involve mild “social downtime” generally lasting under 7 days.

How often you should undergo this treatment depends on the condition of your skin and desired results. Your Medical Provider will develop a skin care treatment plan that may include multiple skin resurfacing laser sessions. For maintenance purposes, it is generally recommended to undergo a laser resurfacing treatment once every year to promote collagen production and exfoliation.

Most laser treatments are recommended during the fall and winter months, as sun exposure should be limited post-procedure.

After the laser treatment, you will see an immediate improvement in the tone and texture of your skin. However, it will take approximately three months to see the maximum results. Individual results may vary but you can generally expect to see continued results for the next three to five years.

This is an excellent treatment for all skin types. If your skincare concerns include wrinkles, acne, age spots, blemishes and sagging skin, you may benefit from a laser skin resurfacing treatment.

During a complimentary consultation, you will meet with our expert Medical Staff where we will go over your medical history, talk about your concerns and let you know what type of results you can get from laser skin resurfacing, including which type of laser is recommended for your treatment plan.
