Lactic Peels use the AHA family of acids and are recommended for dry, dull and uneven skin tone. Chemical peels using lactic acid treat skin at the superficial level and provide a gentle exfoliation to remove your skin’s outer layer and dirt buildup.

Salicylic peels use the BHA family of acids and are typically used for treating congested, oily and acne-prone skin. Salicylic peels exfoliate the skin on a superficial level to cleanse pores, reduce oil and combat acne.

Glycolic peels use the AHA family of acids and are recommended for treating aging, sun damaged and hormonal skin. Glycolic peels deeply penetrate the skin, delivering a number of benefits, such as dissolving sebum (oil), stimulating collagen production, exfoliating dead skin cells and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.

PCA peels are a brand of customizable cocktails of advanced peel ingredients (ranging from lactic acid, salicylic acid, kojic acid, citric acid, hydroquinone and resorcinol) and are suited for all skin types. PCA peels treat skincare concerns, including acne, hyperpigmentation and aging skin. The chemical agents found in PCA peels increase skin’s cellular turnover rate so new skin cells are brought to the surface, reducing fine lines, age spots and clearing breakouts.

PCA power peels use the chemical peel plus a dermaplaning treatment to remove dead skin cells and allow for a deeper penetration of the PCA chemical peel. This helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and reverses the effects of sun damage.

Body peels are customized to treat photo-damaged, acne or dull skin on décolletage, back, buttocks or arms. These peels use a range of ingredients, such as salicylic, trichloroacetic, lactic, and glycolic acids, to improve skin tone and texture.

Chemical peels cannot be performed on skin that is tan or burned from sun exposure. Self-tanner should not be used two weeks prior to your peel. Discontinue the use of any topical prescription medications seven days before treatment (for example, Retin-A, Triluma, Differin, etc.)

There is a common misconception that chemical peels are painful or require extensive downtime, but this is not the case. While each individual result may vary, there are typically very mild side effects following a chemical peel. Peels typically cause little to no discomfort, minimal flaking, and your skin will be glowing and healthy looking following your treatment.

After the peel, it is important to keep the skin well hydrated; 7- 10 days post-treatment we recommend using a light moisturizer to help your skin heal and achieve maximum results. While the skin is healing, you should avoid all sun exposure as your skin may be temporarily more sensitive to the sun. And even if it may be tempting, please refrain from peeling and picking your skin following the procedure. Your skin will naturally begin to heal when you follow the post-peel instructions from your medical provider.

Chemical peel techniques are FDA-approved and generally considered a safe, effective procedure when done by an experienced, qualified medical aesthetician. Chemical peel procedures have been around for decades and have undergone rigorous clinical testing.

Appointments typically last between thirty to sixty minutes, depending on the type of peel you’re receiving.

Before receiving a chemical peel, you will meet with your provider to determine the best option. When you come in for your treatment your provider will cleanse, tone, and apply your chemical peel. If you’re receiving a Lactic, Glycolic, or Salicylic peel your provider with neutralize the peel 1-2 minutes after applying. If you’re receiving a PCA peel, you will need to leave it on for the rest of the day (min. 8 hours). After either Chemical peel your provider will then apply an assortment of serums, boosters, moisturizer, and sunscreen. You will leave feeling and looking and fresh and bright with little to no irritation.

The number of sessions you will need varies, depending on the condition being treated and how your skin responds to the chemical peel. It is best to discuss this during the consultation with your medical provider, as chemical peels treat many types of skin concerns. For example, if you are concerned with acne and clogged pores, it may be recommended to receive a chemical peel every couple of weeks, depending on your concerns and skin needs.

Yes. Clients often benefit from combining chemical peels with other treatments, such a laser treatment, dermaplaning and microneedling. During your consultation, the appropriate treatment plan to achieve your desired results will be discussed with you.

You’ll be happy to know that this is an excellent treatment for all skin types and there are different formulations that may make one better than the other for your specific skincare goal. You may not be a candidate if you are taking certain oral medications like steroids or Accutane. Pregnant or women who are nursing should not be treated.
